Applications Now Open

Applications for the 2026 Animal Photojournalism Fellowship are now open. Deadline for applications: March 16, 2026.

Guided by Founder and Photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur, the Fellowship will support an individual to cover a photo story about animals used for food.

Almost five years ago to the day, I stood in the charred remains of a eucalyptus plantation looking for survivors of the Australian wildfires. This sombre moment in history felt like the beginning of an unprecedented next chapter in the story of climate change. And indeed it was. Since then, fires have consumed vast stretches of the Amazon, Canada’s western provinces, and California.
