In a remote corner of rural France, a shepherd grows deeply attached to his lambs and struggles with the prospect of sending them to slaughter. Torn between compassion and tradition, he reaches out to an animal rights activist whose views challenge everything he has known. Together, they work in secret to save a few lives, forging an unlikely alliance.
