Now Accepting Story Pitches

Submit your story pitches July 1-31, 2026.

We invite photojournalists to submit photo and/or video story pitches that tell compelling stories and can drive awareness, influence audiences, and support change.

Find out more about our priority themes and what makes a strong pitch.

At We Animals, we use photojournalism to advocate for animals with the mission to create ethical and cultural shifts in society and empower human capacity for compassion and change. As a nonprofit photojournalism agency, we carefully consider which stories we support based on their potential to create meaningful impact.

If you would like to contribute your work to We Animals, please fill out the appropriate form below. Before submitting, please take a moment to explore our strategic plan.

While we wish we could respond to every inquiry, please note that due to the volume we receive, we are only able to contact those whose work aligns with our current needs. If we’re interested in moving forward with licensing your visuals or exploring your pitch further, a member of our team will be in touch.

Pitch a Photo Story

We Animals works with photojournalists from around the world to investigate and document the lives and experiences of animals, and how these stories connect to important issues of our time.

We are particularly interested in expanding our network of new and existing contributors who are working regionally where they are based. While we will consider covering international travel for exceptional cases, we are more likely to assign projects within your country of residence. Please consider this before you submit a proposal.

To pitch a story idea, please submit your pitch by filling out this form.

Pitch A Short Film

We’re seeking filmmakers who can bring fresh, urgent narratives to life – stories that reach diverse audiences beyond the usual circles, move viewers with world-class visual narratives, and create impact through media and public engagement.

If you have a vision for a short film that can amplify animal stories and help shift culture, we’d love to hear your pitch. Please complete this form.

Contribute Visuals to the Stock Site

Together with our network of contributing photographers and videographers, we have created the world’s most comprehensive collection of animal photojournalism. Our stock site contains thousands of visuals of animals, including award-winning photojournalism featured in The Guardian, The Washington Post, National Geographic, BBC, and hundreds of others.

As a contributor, your visuals will be accessed by our ever-expanding network of media outlets, NGOs, academics, and other advocates who require visuals for their work. We promote new contributions in several ways: through media outreach, our email list, social media, and website. You can find out more about how we license content here.

If you have images or video footage that you would like us to consider for the stock platform, please complete this form after reviewing our license agreement.

Are you an aspiring animal photojournalist or videographer but aren’t yet ready to pitch us a story or submit work for the stock platform? Please explore the We Animals Masterclass, a self-paced instructional video series developed to foster the next generation of animal photojournalists.
